Fernando Gonzalez
Fernando Francisco González Ciuffardi (Santiago, Chile, JUly 28, 1980) is a former Chilean tennis pro. He played professionally from 1999 to 2012 being his last tournament on Miami Masters 2013 to 31 years of age. His best position in the ATP ranking was Nº5 in January and may 2007.
Early
Fernando Gonzalez studied at the college De La Salle College and Terra Nova, shop where you graduated from Media Education in the commune of La Reina, Santiago, Chile. He began playing in the Tennis Club Queen, who was in front of his house. He weas trained there by Professor Claudio Gonzalez, which many mistook Fernando father by the coincidence of surname.His parent were members and players in the club, so Gonzalez spent all day in that place, playing with any other partner who was no partner, no matter their age. It is these days that Fernando decided to devote himself seriously to the curts. later, afeter having been at the Ranch of Hans Gildmeister, traveling with his family to Miami, where he contunued his tennis career. In that place and with the support of his family, Fernando Gonzalez won many victories, though he never felt obliged to remain competitive. It became number one at U-14 years. At 16 he returned to Chile to play as a junior, where upon arrival and during training, showed his great ability with the right, it was already becoming famous in junior tournaments, and great speed, which is the nickname of "Speedy Gonzalez" caricature of fast Mexican mouse. Years as junior (1996-1998)
Fernando Gonzalez had a successgful career as a youth to reach number one in the world after being crowned champion at Roland Garros in both singles and in doubles, defeating in the singles final the young Juan Carlo Ferrero. Also manages yo win the U.S Open doubles with her future teammate of great achievements, Nicolas Massu. Gonzalez tennis makes it's debut in Santiago Challenger losing to Argentina Martin ROdriguez 4-3, 3-6. The following year Fernando dispute Futures in Latin America, where successful crop later this year to complete the ranking in 1057. In 1998 Fernando also debuts as the representative of Chile in the Davis Cup for 17 years, losing to Franco Squillari of Argentina lost 3-6, 6-4, 2-6, 0-6, after this defeat, still in America disputing futures, professionally plays second Challenger in the city of GRamado, where he manages to advence to second round for the first time in a challenger to defeat 7-6, 4-6, 6-3 to Sout Africa Damien Roberts, but then falls to Barry Cowan 2-6, 7-6, 3-6. Changeller also dispute Santiago as a guest, which falls to Peter Wessels, one of the top seeds 2-6, 4-6. Fernando then gives way to the Future Chile F1 and F2, where the two futures reached the semifinals, and in Chile codifies F3 champion by defeating Enzo Artoni 6-1, 6-2. He ends his participation this year in another Challenger of Santiago, falling in the first round by Rogier Wassen 4-6, 2-6 ending the tear at the site 694.
Davis Cup
Gonzalez made his debut in the Davis Cup team in Chile in April 1998 against FRanco Squillari of Argentina with only 18 years old. He has participated in every Davis Cup series since then, being a fundamental pillar of Chile. In early 2009 Fernando announces his retirement from the team due to irreconcialable differences with the leaders of the early 2010 Federación, Fernando reenters the computer throught the intervention of President Michelle Bachelet, so he played the first round of World Group against Israel, wich won two points for helping Chile beat Israel for a total of 4-1. It has a total record of 31-13 (20-7 in singles and 11-6 in doubles). Together with Nicolas Massu have been the winningest duo in the history of Chile with a record of 9-4. The beast result achieved by the team as fernando has participated have been the quarter-finals in 2006, being defeated by the powerful U.S team by 2-3 and the quarter-finals before being defeated in 2010 the Czech Republic tram where he had to absent through injury.

He retired few months ago u.u, he was such an awesome representative from Chile, such a shame, I actually agree with you and the tennis thing because it's awesome and actually pretty hard to play (I mean it's an 1 vs 1 game so there's no way you'll be able to rely on someone else while playing)
